High Marginal Rates – BBC Confirm What Tax and The Family Have Been Saying

The BBC have confirmed what Tax and the Family have been saying for years, which is that many families effectively have a tax rate of 70% or more which makes it almost impossible for them to manage their finances. Research we will be publishing shortly shows that a family with two children paying a modest rent will, following the change to the universal credit taper rate, have a 70% tax rate on incomes up to £50,000 – when their tax rate goes even higher!
